    Police Saved a Couple’s Life

In the Andheri area of Mumbai, a car lost control while descending a flyover and overturned twice. In this accident that occurred on Saturday, a couple survived fortunately only because they were wearing seatbelts and due to the traffic police. Just fifteen minutes before the accident, traffic police had stopped the couple’s car and insisted that they wear seatbelts. After surviving the accident, the couple thanked traffic police constable Pravin Kshirsagar from the Bandra Kurla Complex, calling him their ‘guardian angel’.

On Saturday, Gautam Rohra and his wife were travelling by car from the Bandra Kurla Complex area towards Andheri. It was raining heavily. At that time, Constable Pravin Kshirsagar, who was standing on the road, stopped Gautam’s car. He said, “Your wife is not wearing a seatbelt. The fine is one thousand rupees. The fine is not important, but if an accident occurs it could cost a life.” Saying this, he insisted that they wear seatbelts.

Within the next fifteen minutes, Gautam’s car reached the Andheri flyover and he lost control of the vehicle. While descending the flyover, the accident occurred and the car overturned twice. Although the car was badly damaged, Gautam and his wife suffered only minor injuries because they were wearing seatbelts.

Gautam and his wife realized that if Police Constable Pravin Kshirsagar had not insisted on wearing seatbelts, they might have lost their lives. They later visited the traffic police outpost at Bandra Kurla Complex and thanked Kshirsagar and his colleagues. The entire incident was shared on social media, and the Mumbai Police have been widely praised.
